You are the heartbeat. The pulse. The life.

The centre of everything we do.

Doctor Who?

Angle-scalpel-v1.png

We’re called Tardis Advice.

And there’s a healthy bit of nerdery involved.
But we think it’s a great analogy for what we do and who we help.

First, there’s The Doctor. With a capital D.
It’s the connection between us and who we love to help. Time travel not required.

Second, there’s the Tardis.
Small, simple and ordinary on the outside. Endless possibilities on the inside.

Third, it’s about a journey. Going on adventures together.
The unknown potential. And having interesting experiences along the way.

That’s the Tardis connection. The way we see the world.

Would you like a jelly baby?
Affirmative master.

When I first met Stefan, I felt our principles and approach to life aligned. I wanted someone I could trust to give me the best advice regarding financial matters, without judging me and with my best interests at heart.

I have felt secure in knowing my financial decisions have been savvy yet still ‘safe’, and that my future is being taken care of even at this relatively early stage. This allows me to relax and enjoy life, which helps me feel happy and secure.

Stefan Dooney

Hello, I’m Stefan.

I’m a financial planner — a problem solver at heart.

I help people like you rethink and reframe, get perspective on challenges and guide you through decisions — around money, work and life. I share your mental load and stand firmly in your corner to support you through all the ups and downs.

I have a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance), Diploma of Financial Planning and am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

And marrying a psychologist was like a crash course in improving my listening skills. (Yes, I’d recommend it a million times over.)

People tell me I have a knack for making others feel comfortable. And when your job involves having deep conversations about money and what’s important to you, that makes things more enjoyable — for the people I help and me too.

It’s deeply satisfying to have a positive effect on someone’s life. Seeing their success is reward enough, and their appreciation of my small part really does fill me with joy.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy being active and outdoors. And that includes joining in on all the fun kids’ stuff.  (You should see me on my scooter!) As a family we try to pause and enjoy the simple things — spending time together, sharing meals, a spot of glamping, watching the kids’ antics, and just being there to be part of it all.

I look forward to talking to you soon.

Stefan

Tom McKey

Tom McKey

Hello, I’m Tom.

I’m a financial planner — a guardian and organiser for your financial life.

I guide people through the ins and outs of making sound financial decisions, so they get on (and stay on) the path to financial freedom — whatever that means to them. I believe one of the best ways to ease those 3am worry-and-what-if sessions, is to take care of your wellbeing, across money, work and life.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Planning and Investments) and am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

And with a deep interest in investing as a tool to grow income, I plan to make work optional long before I’m ‘supposed’ to retire. (You too?)

People tell me I’m a great organiser, including my wife. I reckon that starts with getting to the heart of what’s important, and then carefully arranging things to best help the people it’s designed for — whether that’s the junk drawer or your financial life.

I love the problem solving aspect of financial planning. It’s so satisfying to listen, analyse and thoughtfully create a plan that improves someone’s financial life.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me enjoying the simple pleasures with my wife Leanne, son Aiden and Bucket the guinea pig. Whether that’s a summer swim, winter movie by the fire, or all-year-round get togethers with friends and a country-town-sized extended family (go on, ask me how many cousins I have), the quiet life in this season suits me just fine.

I hope to meet you soon.

Tom

Dani Van Zuilekom

Hello, I’m Dani.

I’m a client service manager — a details caretaker.

I’m the caller, emailer, application filler, signature-seeker. I answer questions and solve problems; and take care of all the details that help plans become actions, and clients feel relief.

I have an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning and Certificate III in Early Childhood Education.

Being a mum and marring my husband twice — once in Melbourne and another in South Africa — has only enhanced my organisational and getting-things-done skills. Yes, that meant organising two weddings.

People tell me I’m the heartbeat of the office and keep everything and everyone moving towards our common goals. They also think I have an uncanny ability to attract flowers from clients and friends (and I’m totally okay with that).

I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people achieve something, no matter how big or small. Knowing you’re someone others trust and depend upon, is a good feeling — for both them and me.

When I’m not at work, I love exploring the outdoors, and once spent a month hiking through the rainforests of Borneo and Indonesia with my husband. I adore the experience of live music and also play the djembe, which is a West African style of drum.

I look forward to helping you soon (and getting your autograph on 27 documents).

Dani

Tanya Dooney

Hello, I’m Tanya.

I’m a practice manager — an office and operations organiser.

I make sure the behind-the-scenes business things run smoothly, so the rest of the team can get on with looking after our clients efficiently and effectively. I also work on projects that help make the business a little bit better, every day.

I have a Diploma of Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology).

That psychology background brings a different perspective to client and team conversations, where behaviour has such a big link with what we do, what we achieve and who we are.

People tell me I’m a great communicator and relationship builder. I’m truly interested in people and their stories, and value the trust we share and bonds we create.

I just love being part of something that makes a huge difference to peoples’ lives. This career isn’t about box ticking and clocking out at 5pm. It’s about that relief people feel when they realise everything’s going to be okay. And let’s be honest, helping others feel good, feels good too.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me being mum to two toddlers, and doing craft, playing in the park, digging in the garden, and singing a Wiggles song or two. (Yes, I know all the words.) As a family, we spend a bit of time out Toowoomba way on my parents’ family farm, and just enjoy the simplicity of being outdoors and pottering around.

Looking forward to meeting you soon (singing optional).

Tanya

Our insurances would have taken me months and months to sort out, whereas leaving it to a professional like Stefan was a huge weight off my shoulders. It was immensely time saving and allowed me to focus on my work and family.
